What a Novel Idea ~Author Nigel Lesmoir-Gordon’s ‘Life is Just …’ Suite.

Nigel Lesmoir Gordon explains:

‘You’ll doubtless recall that Luke Howard wrote some music a while back to accompany me at book signings and presentations for Life is Just…  I recorded him playing the suite in St Swithun’s church, Sandy a coupla weeks ago. Here’s the Vimeo link so you can watch it:’

Nigel also writes:

A new review of The Keeper of the Faith : “I have just finished ‘The Keeper of the Faith’.  It is a very personal book – all about the author’s experience, knowledge, passions, imagination and ultimate goal. The Vietnam section is excellent and could have made a book on its own.  The ‘Keeper of the Faith’ is the right title.  We are all trying to keep the faith through the vicissitudes of life and the struggles with our individual self.”

Thanks for the update Nigel. What a wonderful thing to have a piece of music composed for one of your books!

New Review for ‘Life is Just’ by Nigel Lesmoir Gordon from author Alex Seymour

Here’s a fantastic review for Life is Just by Nigel Lesmoir Gordon.

This story brilliantly captures the mood of the time – putting the reader ‘front and the centre’ of an innocent time in history that, only now, do we realise was the beginning of a huge cultural change that swept through the Western world. This was such an enjoyable read!

Alex Seymour ~ Author of The Psychedelic Marine.

Many thanks Alex. We think it’s a great book too!

Celebrating new 5 Star Reviews for Nigel Lesmoir Gordon’s ‘Life is Just …’

Life is Just... FRONTCOVER“It was all captivating and I loved meeting all the different characters that reminded me of myself & my friends & their families – feeling those difficulties of growing up in an era that was stale & hostile about anything new or different – the ramifications of just being a bit unusual – the glory of finding other things in life – it was painful to revisit those days of charging out – but very comforting to know that we’ve moved on since then.
Nigel makes it all come alive & you find yourself being sucked in to a way of life that just makes you so delighted that attitudes & opinions have thankfully moved on – his writing is terrific, tempting & thoroughly enjoyable.
It’s the best book that I’ve read for a long while.d”

Winner to our first on line ‘Life is Just … Competition

Here are the entries to the ‘Life is Just … competition. The rules were just to finish the phrase without being rude or swear!

Here are the entries:

 ‏@VicPetit  … an anagram of file …

@RoseEnglishUKauthor ‘Life is Just Rosy’

@EllaMarieR Full of Surprises’?

Eric Smith The other little point of note Diana, life’s a bowl of cherries. :))

Colin van Geffen Life is what happens while you’re making other plans – John Lennon

Steve Hudson My favourite ( from 1970 – hippy era)

“Life is but a beanstalk, man!”
I think the ‘but’ gives a rather existential twist to it. The lovely (Keswick Hall) man who coined it, unfortunately is no longer with us.

Alex Rychlewski There’s a classic French one, but it’s quite rude and pessimistic, so I’ll refrain smile emoticon.

Peter Arnold I also like hearing people come up with mixed metaphores and sayings I have a friend who says ‘it buggers belief’

Eric Smith A thing of beauty is a joy forever! Or how about, Time and tide wait for no man!

Pamela Gilmour Life is just empty without someone to love & share it with.

Paul Fellows: Life is like an onion. It has many layers and all of them stink!

And the winner, chosen by author of

‘Life is Just…’ Nigel Lesmoir Gordon’:

Colin van Geffen ‘Life is what happens while you’re making other plans’ – John Lennon

Why? because it not only  reflects Nigel’s novel ‘Life is Just…‘ perfectly but it is also of the same era – the 1960’s.

Congratulations Colin. Please email eventispress@outlook.com and we’ll send you a Kindle voucher to buy ‘Life is Just…’

If you didn’t win you can find it on amazon.co.uk

Well done Colin and all the other entrants. There will be another competition soon!
