Update from author Margaret Roberts

Margaret Roberts writes to us about her most recent achievements:

“I have been busy with other pear-related work in 2018 and was invited to advise on a new publication called The Worcester Black Pear http://www.marcherapple.net/product/new-book-the-worcester-black-pear-by-wade-muggleton/

I have also continued my research into Warden Abbey, Bedfordshire and the monastery’s story in brief is now available on the Warden Abbey Vineyard website: http://www.wardenvineyard.org.uk/warden-abbey-story/

I  have also contributed to a blog post on the Warden manuscripts, which was published by the Wren Library, Cambridge in March 2018 https://trinitycollegelibrarycambridge.wordpress.com/2018/03/

The highlight of 2018 was the unveiling on 20th July of a reconstruction painting of Warden Abbey. Completed by former Historic England reconstruction artist, Peter Dunn, the artwork shows the abbey as it may have appeared c.1370 and every aspect is based on evidence unearthed by Margaret over the last 4 years. I was extremely grateful for the support of Dr Glyn Coppack, an internationally respected authority on the Cistercians (also known as the White Monks) without whom the project would have been impossible. The Old Warden History & Heritage Society has purchased the original, which will go on public display.”

This sounds so interesting Margaret. Thank you for the update.
